Alentejo, anos 80. Luísa, ainda jovem, gere sozinha uma propriedade rural herdada da família. Tem o apoio do irmão Alexandre, de uma irmã e do cunhado, mas a sobrevivência da quinta torna-se cada vez mais difícil. Enquanto o cunhado defende a transformação da herdade numa mansão de luxo destinada ao turismo, Luísa resiste à pressão da modernização. Entretanto, Miguel, um jovem trabalhador rural, apaixona-se pela proprietária, tratada por todos como “a fidalga”, numa relação marcada pelas diferenças de classe e pelo peso das tradições. Adaptação de “Miguel”, de João de Araújo Correia, este é o filme mais desconhecido da trilogia, uma vez que não teve estreia comercial, e dialoga com os anteriores através de múltiplas referências: as famílias em férias evocam o primeiro, enquanto as notícias sobre a crise ambiental, ouvidas pela rádio, prolongam as inquietações de “Um S Marginal”.
Alentejo, 1980s. Luísa runs a rural estate inherited from her family on her own. She has the support of her brother Alexandre, her sister, and her brother-in-law, but keeping the farm afloat is becoming increasingly difficult. While her brother-in-law advocates turning the estate into a luxury holiday home, Luísa resists the pressure to modernize. Meanwhile, Miguel, a young farmhand, falls in love with the owner – whom everyone calls “the lady” – in a relationship marked by class differences and the weight of tradition. An adaptation of “Miguel” by João de Araújo Correia, this is the least known film in the trilogy, as it never had a commercial release, and it engages with the previous films through multiple references: the families on vacation evoke the first film, while news reports about the environmental crisis, heard on the radio, echo the concerns of “Um S Marginal.”
